Frequently
Asked Questions (1)How does Paintless Dent Repair Work? - Paintless Dent Repair is a process of accessing the back side of the damaged panel and then massaging and shrinking
the dent with unique and specialized rods with different configurations.
- Additionally, there is also the art of “Glue
Pulling.” When access can not be gained to the back of the damaged panel, we glue tabs onto the car in
order to manipulate and stress relieve the dent from the outside. The paint on the car should be the factory finish due to
the adhesion properties being far superior to after-market paint.
(2) Can I Buy One of Those ‘Pop-a-Dent Out’ Kits Seen on TV or In Auto Parts Stores and Fix My Own Dent? We do NOT
recommend attempting to fix the dent yourself unless it is an older car whose appearance is not a concern to you.
Companies selling these “Do It Yourself” kits only sell part of the supplies needed. They
do not give you all of the information you need to know about how to stress relieve metal or what kind of paint is on your
vehicle. A twenty dollar “kit” could easily cost you hundreds of dollars to get your vehicle
re-repaired at a body shop if your repair does not go as planned. We know this from experience, as we have
had several customers call us to see if we could fix their repair attempts.
(3) If I Get a Dent in My Car Can I Try to Use a Plunger or Suction Cup to Pull it Out
Before I Call You? NO! Please make a No Obligation
phone call to us first! We may be able to offer you some helpful advise if you
wish to attempt the repair. You need to be aware that every dent is different. The damaged metal needs to be returned to its
original shape in a particular order. In our decades of experience, we have yet to see a dent totally removed
with plungers, suction, dry ice or heat.
(4) Will My Paint Be Affected By This
Type of Repair?
- No. As
long as you have a high quality finish on your car (most do), paintless dent repair will not damage
your vehicle. A factory finish has superior flexibility and adhesion, far better than the old days. That is why there are
thousands of vehicles repaired daily all over the world.
(5) How Large of a Dent Can
Dents and Dings LLC repair?. It is not necessarily the size
of the dent but how stretched the metal has become. While
paintless dent repair is not the panacea for all dents, it is a great alternative to conventional
auto body repair. When metals gets stretched, we can only shrink the metal so
far. Real sharp dents, e.g., car shot with a BB gun, a deep, puncture dent caused by
a sharp object, may not be able to repaired using paintless dent repair. However,
a parking lot door “ding” is an excellent candidate for such repair.
(6) How Much Does It Cost to Have Paintless
Dent Repair Performed on My Vehicle? - Unfortunately,
we are not able to give quotes without seeing the vehicle in person or having a picture e-mailed to us. Each
dent is distinctive and must be worked in a different way. In addition, we must take into account whether
there braces in the way or possibly a headlight or taillight that must be removed. We can tell you that
our average repair invoice for one to five (1-5) dents is anywhere from our seventy five dollars ($75.00) minimum charge to
two hundred dollars ($200.00). However, because one larger dent may cost one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) does not mean two smaller dents are seventy five dollars ($75.00) each.
They may only be $10.00 to $20.00 each. If the repair estimate for one dent exceeds much beyond
$350.00, we will probably recommend conventional body repair be performed.
(7) Must I Contact My Insurance Company First
to Have Paintless Dent Repair on My Car? Not necessarily. As much as we like working with our local insurance companies,
paintless dent repair is usually so inexpensive, it will probably be less than your deductible
(unless it is hail damage). This will help eliminate frivolous claims and keep your insurance premiums
from rising.
(8) My Vehicle
Was Recently in a Hail Storm. Can Your Company Fix Hail Damage Using PDR?
- Yes. We have performed paintless dent repair on hundreds of hail damaged
vehicles to the delight of our customers. We have performed hail damage repairs on everything from Chevrolets
to Jaguars and all cars in between. Furthermore, when youhave

For Hail Damage? Yes. Furthermore, in most cases, paintless
dent repair is the preferred method of repair. With your full coverage policy, the only out-of-pocket expense
is your deductible. And, as with all hail damage claims, Dents and Dings LLC will assist you any way possible
to reduce your inconvenience, from free pick up and delivery of your vehicle to helping you arrange for your rental car.
(10) I have never had to
file a claim with my insurance, what do I need to do? First, you will need to contact your insurance agent to file a claim. You will be assigned
a claim number. An insurance appraiser/adjuster will contact you and make arrangements to view your damaged vehicle. Next, you can
contact Dents and Dings LLC to set up an appointment to get your vehicle repaired. Most hail damage repairs
only take one (1) or two (2) days, However, once we review the adjuster’s estimate, we may find additional
damage the adjuster was unaware of. We have an excellent working relationship with all major insurance
companies. We will communicate directly with the adjuster to resolve any issues that may arise.
We promise to care for your car as if it was our own from start to finish. Regardless of what the
job calls for, we will strive to put your vehicle back to its pre-accident condition.
(11) What is Hole Drilling and Will Dents and Dings Be Using This Process on My Vehicle to
Get the Dents Out? Absolutely not! Dents and Dings LLC follows
a strict No Hole Drilling policy. Our experience has taught us there is rarely ever a need to drill a hole in a customer’s
vehicle. It may not be the easiest way to repair a dent, but to become great
at what we do, the harder way is sometimes the best way! In extremely rare instances, drilling may be necessary.
But, rest assured, once all options of repair have been exhausted, you, the customer will be notified for your permission.
